Sony 7.4-inch OLED panel

Sony has recently introduced its PVM-740, a 7.4-inch OLED monitor for video professionals. It sports a 960x540 resolution, and can be used for post-production, studio editing, or similar tasks in the office or out in the field, as it is said to be viewable in strong ambient light. The device can be rack-mounted and has an AR coating that protects it from scratches while still enabling a high transmission rate of light.
Sony says the monitor is well-suited to 3D image acquisition when two are used, as it can flip a picture horizontally or vertically without frame delay. It can be connected to the camera systems directly without an external signal converter to make system integration easier.

There are also DC and AC power hook-ups, assignable buttons, a camera focus button, an 8-channel audio level meter and a wave form monitor, among other high-end functions.

As it's meant for professionals, the device has a composite video input, 3G/HD/SD-SDI inputs and a more traditional HDMI interface. It's due for a release later in April, priced at $3,850
